A new Asian center for AR technology
SCHOTT’s new facility in Kulim marks a significant expansion of SCHOTT’s production capabilities in Malaysia, complementing its facility in nearby Penang, where the company has been operating for over 50 years.
The Kulim facility has created 400 skilled engineering and production jobs, providing valuable employment opportunities for the local economy. Completed in less than 12 months, the state-of-the-art facility will boost SCHOTT’s capacity to supply high-quality optical components to international industries that manufacture the latest equipment for technology such as augmented reality (AR).

The Kulim site reinforces Malaysia as a global manufacturing hub for SCHOTT’s specialty glass solutions.
