Testimonial Laura Flügel – Master Data Steward
I completed my training at SCHOTT and currently serve as a Master Data Steward with global responsibility.
Even during my apprenticeship as an office management assistant, I realized how important structured processes and clean data are for a company. Today, as Master Data Steward, I am responsible for the central maintenance and quality assurance of the SAP material master data for our Tubing Business Unit. I review material requirements, ensure compliance with guidelines, and analyze data quality issues to provide sustainable solutions.
What makes my day-to-day work special is the close collaboration across departmental and national boundaries. I serve as an interface between departments, Process Owners, and IT, and support users worldwide through training, evaluations, and documentation. The exchange—both within the team and internationally—is open, constructive, and characterized by mutual support.
SCHOTT is special to me because it combines professional expertise with a family-like atmosphere. I experience trust, appreciation, and collaboration on an equal footing. From the very beginning of my apprenticeship, I felt well supported—and even today, I feel that I can take on responsibility and continue to develop myself.
